STEICO prefabricates

Ecology, economy and social policy. These areas in STEICO are referred to as sustainable development. STEICO are ecological products made of environmentally friendly raw materials. They can be used in the modernization of buildings and in the case of building a new home. They enable the construction of future-proof, healthy buildings of exceptional quality.

House in STEICO frame technology

Frame house for generations Many believe that a Canadian is a home for one generation. Experiences from other countries contradict this. In the United States and Scandinavia, there are hundred-year-old timber-frame houses. They are made of good quality wood, well insulated and protected against the damaging effects of weather conditions. Importantly, Canadians can be easily adapted to a new life situation. You can easily rearrange the interior or, if necessary, add a new part of the house. Five trends that will change the wooden construction market in Poland

  • Prefabrication – building from prefabricated elements requires fewer employees, and thanks to precisely made elements it is more accurate and takes much less time, which shortens the entire investment process
  • Energy-saving - it is important to make a conscious and reasonable selection of construction technologies and materials that will allow to obtain the required parameters resulting from the climatic assumptions of the European Union, without exposing the investor to expensive and time-consuming works
  • Need for comfort - houses in the STEICO construction system are a conscious choice to live in harmony with nature. In the construction of building partitions designed in the STEICO technology, thermal insulation made of natural wood fibers is used, which not only promotes the health and well-being of residents, but also acts as a heat buffer in winter and a barrier to heat in summer.
  • Ecology - wooden houses in the STEICO structural system perfectly fit into the growing pro-ecological trends. By binding CO2, the building does not increase the greenhouse effect, and thanks to optimal thermal insulation made of wood fibers, it reduces the demand for thermal energy.
  • Social Responsibility - sustainable construction must switch to natural renewable materials with a low carbon footprint and technologies that require significantly less energy than conventional methods

Proper thermal insulation saves costs and protects the climate

Proper thermal insulation is essential to obtain low heating energy requirements.

The low thermal conductivity of the wood-fiber thermal insulation increases the energy efficiency of the entire building. As a result, houses in the STEICO system are particularly energy-saving and economical . For example, the elastic mat made of STEICOflex 036 wood fibers has the lowest thermal conductivity among all known natural thermal insulation materials - 0.036 [W / (m * K)].

This is a guarantee of effective protection against the loss of valuable heat in winter and against overheating of the house in summer.

Intelligent solutions for mission-critical connections

It is well known that the biggest challenge in the construction of passive houses is to design the correct connection details . Fortunately, the certification report of the Passive House Institute provides practical solutions for the entire building envelope - from roof and wall connections, through ceiling connections, to corner details or the installation of windows and doors. Accurate structure descriptions, cross-sections and thermal bridge calculations are the basis for safe, energy-saving structures. The STEICO certification report is also supplemented with further requirements, e.g. those relating to the air tightness of the building.

No more hot weather, time for indoor comfort

Our climate is changing, there is no doubt about it. The number of the so-called "Tropical days" with temperatures exceeding 30 ° C has increased several times in the past decades. It is no wonder then that protection against high summer temperatures is becoming increasingly important in new construction as well as in the renovation of older buildings. Attic rooms are the most exposed to overheating in summer. However, the heat can also spread quickly to other areas of the house. Thermal insulation materials made of wood fibers can minimize this effect, providing you with comfortable conditions for relaxation.

STEICO thermal insulation is more dense and more heat-storing than many conventional insulation materials. Thanks to this, they provide much greater protection against heat. The heat of the day is stored in the insulating material until the cooler evening hours. Independent studies show that the use of wood-fiber thermal insulation materials can reduce the number of hot days in a building by almost half!

Noise protection - outside and inside

The sound comes to us from very different sources. While, for example, traffic and noise from a neighboring construction site affect the building from outside, loud music or walking noises are sources of sound from inside the building. Excess contact with it can cause a real torment of using your dream house or apartment. Even an innocent patter of rain on the tiles can deprive us of sleep.
The STEICO construction system has the right solution for all of our needs - to create pleasant peace and quiet in your own four walls.

Diffusion openness means safe moisture management

Moisture attacks not only from the outside, but also from inside the building, e.g. when taking a bath or cooking, where a lot of water vapor is released. Although the thermal insulation itself is theoretically protected against moisture, even small holes in the vapor barrier membrane may cause its dangerous migration. On the right side, choose STEICO's vapor-permeable thermal insulation materials.

All STEICO thermal insulation materials are vapor-permeable, i.e. they allow for the safe transport of moisture. In simplified terms, the term "breathing structures" is often used. In this way, STEICO thermal insulation materials protect the structure and protect it against damage caused by moisture: mold and structural damage.

Energy efficiency confirmed by the certificate of the Passive House Institute

Our ecological building products allow you to design and build houses in an energy-saving standard, including a passive standard. Solutions for the construction industry offered by STEICO have received a prestigious certificate issued by the German Institute for Passive House. The certification report confirms: The STEICO building system "is suitable for passive houses, because both the heat transfer coefficient U of the external elements is below 0.15 W / (m2 K) and the criterion of no thermal bridges is met."

Such a building should be built tightly and equipped with the mechanical ventilation with recuperation , as well as a heating system using renewable energy. It is worth adding that wooden passive houses are built even in areas with a cold climate and they work perfectly well.
